1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing and using LynxDesk ("the Extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Extension.

2. Description of Service

LynxDesk is a Chrome browser extension that provides repair shop management functionality, including but not limited to:

  • Customer relationship management
  • Repair ticket tracking
  • Work order management
  • Quote generation
  • Invoice printing
  • Local data storage
  • Optional cloud backup via Dropbox (Premium)

3. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use LynxDesk for your personal or business repair shop management purposes.

4. Data Storage and Privacy

Local Storage: All data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's local storage API. We do not have access to your data stored locally.

Cloud Backup (Premium): If you enable Dropbox backup, data is synced to your personal Dropbox account. You retain full ownership and control of your data. We do not store or access your Dropbox data.

No Data Collection: LynxDesk does not collect, transmit, or share your personal data or business information with third parties.

5. Premium Features and Licensing

Certain features require a Premium license subscription:

  • Annual subscription fee: $19 USD/year
  • Payment and license management processed through Lemon Squeezy
  • License valid for one year from purchase date
  • Renewal required to maintain Premium features
  • Refund policy: 14-day money-back guarantee

By purchasing a Premium license, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's Terms of Service.

License Activation and Device Limits

Each Premium license is limited to activation on a single device to prevent unauthorized sharing:

  • You must activate your license within the Extension using your license key
  • Activation binds the license to your device using a unique device identifier
  • You may deactivate your license from one device and activate it on another device at any time
  • Only one device can be actively using your license at a time
  • License validation occurs periodically to ensure compliance

License Validation

To verify your Premium license and enforce usage limits, our license server collects:

  • Your license key and activation status
  • A unique device identifier generated locally on your device
  • Device fingerprint for security purposes
  • Optional device name you assign (e.g., "Work Computer")
  • Activation and validation timestamps

This data is used solely to verify license validity, prevent unauthorized sharing, and enforce single-device limits. All license communications are encrypted.

6. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your data
  • Creating regular backups of your data
  • Ensuring your use complies with applicable laws
  • Not using the Extension for illegal purposes
  • Not attempting to reverse engineer or modify the Extension

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

LynxDesk is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Merchantability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation

We do not guarantee that the Extension will meet your requirements or that it will be available at all times.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of profits or revenue
  • Loss of data
  • Business interruption
  • Loss of goodwill

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Premium subscription in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Data Backup

While LynxDesk offers backup features, you are solely responsible for maintaining your own backups. We are not responsible for any data loss that may occur.

10. Updates and Modifications

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue the Extension at any time
  • Update these Terms of Service with notice
  • Change pricing for future subscriptions
  • Add or remove features

Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to LynxDesk immediately, without prior notice, for any breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Extension will cease immediately.

12. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in LynxDesk, including all intellectual property rights, remain with us. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Extension.

13. Third-Party Services

LynxDesk may integrate with third-party services:

  • Dropbox: Optional cloud backup service (subject to Dropbox's terms and policies)
  • Lemon Squeezy: Payment processing and license management (subject to Lemon Squeezy's terms and policies)

Your use of such services is subject to their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
