The Chrome Extension (Zero Tracking)
LynxDesk Chrome extension does NOT collect, store, or transmit:

The Website (Limited Analytics)

2. How Your Data is Stored
Local Storage (All Users)
All data you enter into LynxDesk is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's local storage API. This includes:

Important: Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable cloud backup.
Cloud Backup - Dropbox (Premium Users Only)
If you choose to enable Dropbox backup:
- Your data is synced directly to YOUR personal Dropbox account
- We use Dropbox's official API with your explicit authorization
- We do NOT have access to your Dropbox account or files
- We do NOT store copies of your data on our servers
- You can revoke access at any time through your Dropbox settings
The sync happens directly between your browser and Dropbox's servers. We are not involved in this data transfer.
3. Third-Party Services
Google Analytics (Website Only)
Our marketing website (lynxdesk.com) uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. This helps us improve the user experience. Google Analytics collects:
- Anonymized IP addresses (we've enabled IP anonymization)
- Pages you visit and time spent on each page
- Browser type, device type, and screen resolution
- Referring website (how you found us)
- Geographic location (country/city level only)
Important: Google Analytics is ONLY used on our marketing website. The LynxDesk Chrome extension itself does NOT contain any analytics or tracking.

Dropbox Integration (Optional)

Payment Processing and License Management (Premium Users)
When you purchase a Premium license, payment is processed by Lemon Squeezy, our secure third-party payment and licensing provider. We do NOT store your credit card information or payment details. License Activation and Validation
For Premium users, license activation and validation are handled through our secure license server. To verify your license and enforce single-device activation limits, we collect and store:
- Your license key and activation status
- A unique device identifier generated on your device
- Device fingerprint to prevent unauthorized transfers
- Optional device name you assign (e.g., "Work Computer")
- Activation timestamps and validation history
License Data Retention and Your Rights
- License data is retained for the duration of your subscription
- Upon cancellation or expiry, activation records may be retained for up to 90 days for dispute resolution
- All license communications are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
- You can deactivate your license from any device through the extension settings
- You can transfer your license between devices (subject to activation limits)

Chrome Web Store
LynxDesk is distributed through the Chrome Web Store, which is operated by Google. Your installation and use of the extension is subject to Google's privacy policies.
4. Permissions Explained
LynxDesk requests the following Chrome permissions:
Storage Permission
Required to save your repair shop data locally in your browser. This is the core functionality of the extension.
Dropbox API Access (Optional)
Only requested if you enable cloud backup. Used to sync your data to your personal Dropbox account.
We request only the minimum permissions necessary for functionality. We do NOT request permissions to read your browsing history, monitor your activity, or access other websites.
5. Data Security
While we don't collect your data, we take security seriously:
- Local Storage: Your data is protected by Chrome's security model and your device's security
- No Server Storage: Since we don't store data on servers, there's no central point of vulnerability
- Dropbox Encryption: When using Dropbox backup, data is encrypted during transmission using SSL/TLS
- Your Responsibility: Protect your device and browser profile to keep your data secure
6. Your Data Rights
Since all data is stored on your device or in your personal Dropbox account, you have complete control:
- Access: You can access all your data at any time through the extension
- Export: Premium users can export data to CSV format
- Delete: You can delete all data by clearing the extension's storage or uninstalling
- Portability: Your data is stored in standard formats and can be backed up or transferred
Since we don't collect your data, there's no need to request data deletion from us. Simply clear your browser storage or uninstall the extension.
7. Children's Privacy
LynxDesk is intended for business use and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If a parent or guardian believes a child has used our extension, please contact us.
8. International Users
LynxDesk can be used anywhere in the world. Since all data is stored locally on your device, no cross-border data transfers occur unless you choose to use Dropbox backup, in which case data is transferred according to Dropbox's policies.
